#1000Speak has given me the opportunity to share my love, my compassion and my nature-to-help-anyone-that-hurts, a voice. I can’t reiterate enough how much love I have for each person in the group. Including the Co-Founders Yvonne and Lizzi for starting such a gorgeous movement. I have made friendships that I hope last a lifetime. These people will most definitely make me a better person.
You see, I am a rose-colored-glasses-wearing, bleeding heart. It isn’t abnormal for me to cry myself to sleep over a YouTube video about –well anything. I like to try to blame it on pre-menopause, but the fact is I have been like this — for always. I feel things quite deeply. Maybe it is because of the pain I have once felt, or maybe I was born this way, who knows. I love to philosophize but I am clearly not a philosopher.
Recently my lovely, beautiful, talented and empathetic friend wrote a post on my blog that screamed #1000Speak, and she didn’t even have a clue she was doing it. It gave my shivers of the I-love-her, kind.
I know it took a lot out of Carmen to write so candidly about her family. Something, she usually doesn’t do. You see, Carmen is the kind of girl who hides her beautiful soul behind humor and sarcasm. She can be hard to get-to-know at first. But don’t be fooled by her tough exterior, she is a gooey mess inside. Aren’t we all, well I am, I know that for certain.
If you, missed it, Carmen wrote a magnificent article about autism and why she is grateful for it. You heard me right; I said grateful. That in itself is an incredible and inspiring concept. She is an angel. So is her son. You can find it here: Why I Owe So Much To Autism
Not too long ago I invited Carmen to become a contributor to my blog. She has WOWED me, and I am lucky to have her. That being said I have come to realize I am not good at nurturing these types of friendships or any for that matter. So the timing couldn’t be better. On April 20th, the #1000Speak Bloggers are writing about Nurturing. This one is going to be tough. Until then, please be aware of Carmen’s Cause, and help any way you can. The amount of love she has for her family is undeniable.
Carmen will undoubtedly add to this amazing group of people with her insights, and love of all that is good.
Speak out for the voices that can’t. #WorldAutismDay
Sidebar: I love you Charmin’ Carmen; you inspire me to be, and do better every day.
