How do you tell someone you only know through social media that you adore them, and you can’t get enough of their thick melodious words? I guess you read everything they have ever written and stalk the hell out of them until they know who you are. And by stalk I don’t mean boiling their pet rabbit on the stove, I didn’t do that, I don’t think she has a rabbit.
Samara, you don’t have a rabbit, right? The people will only worry, if your answer is not anymore. Be cool with me here, ok?
So I didn’t actually stalk Samara, not in the traditional sense. I simply embraced her words. I loved them before I ever started blogging/writing – whatever the fuck it is I do. I didn’t know I would eventually come to know and love this artistic soul, or feel her humanity.
Like really feel her humanity!
I don’t belong here, and I want you to recognize, I do know that. I am new to you Samara, but my respect and admiration for you is one in the same. I am not here to cross a boundary or be something to you that I am not. Please just understand, I do have a place in my heart for you. You inspire me everyday.
My Open Letter to Samara is as follows.
Fuck, I have wanted to write that since I read your piece. An Open Letter To People That Write Open Letters
You are a someone I’m lucky to know you. See, this is where it becomes all crazy and confusing for me. I am just another human being standing, walking, crying, feeling and sometimes writing. Yet, you are perfect, to me. You write raw, sexy words, but that is not why I adore you. I cherish you because I believe you are genuine, as natural and authentic as I. You feel the world as it was meant to be felt. Without you and your words, so many people may not know this, may not know what authenticity is. Your fearless writing has become the precipice in which most of us writers stand.
“Write Free Mother Fucker” – Samara
So, Samara, I thank you, for your words and your composition among them. You have become a friend to me, not just someone I admire from afar, but a person that I trust and believe in with my whole heart. You are a warrior and a beautiful woman, and without you, the world wouldn’t be the same.
Whether I connected due to your gorgeous words on your blog or if it happened to be through the Bunker.
You girl, I feel like I get you. That simply has to do with you, and nothing else.
Happy Birthday, Samara.
